is at the far end of the Chao Phraya River, where it empties out into the Gulf of Thailand. The borders to the north and west join the Metropolitan of Bangkok. This photo album concentrates mainly on Paknam where we live, but we also have pictures about events and festivals around the province. We are close enough to Bangkok for people to come for a day trip. We don't get many independent foreign tourists so this is actually a good place to experience "Untouched Thailand".Every province in Thailand has a motto that shows its strengths and history. For Samut Prakan it is: "The Naval Battle Memorial Fort, Holy Phra Chedi Klang Nam, Massiv Crocodile Farm, Exciting Ancient Siam, Phra Pradaeng Songkran Festival, Tasty Dried Salit Fish, Rub Bua Traditional Festival and Emerging Industrial Estate. The Province Flower is marigold and the Province Tree is Portia Tree. The Samut Prakan emblem shows the Phra Samut Chedi pagoda and ubosot".
TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
Erawan Elephant Museum (พิพิธภัณฑ์ช้างเอราวัณ) The giant three-headed elephant. 
Crocodile Farm (ฟาร์มจระเข้) The large Crocodile Farm is our most popular tourist attraction. 
Ancient Siam (เมืองโบราณ) This is a historical park covering 200 acres whcih can be explored by bicycle. 
Phra Samut Chedi (พระสมุทรเจดีย์) There is a popular temple fair here for nine days during October. 
Bang Pu Seaside Resort (สถานตากอากาศบางปู) Located along the coast is this popular pier. 
Reclining Buddha (พระนอนวัดบางพลีใหญ่กลาง) The largest Reclining Buddha in Thailand. 
Bang Nam Pheung Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำบางน้ำผึ้ง) A good place to relax at the weekend. 
Chulachomklao Fort (ป้อมพระจุลจอมเกล้า) Guarding the estuary and approach to Bangkok. 
Klong Suan 100 Year Market (ตลาดคลองสวน 100 ปี) This old market is picturesque. 
Lake Taco Water Sports (บึงตะโก้) A great place to come to enjoy water sports.
