MERIT MAKING FOR SONGKRAN: On the morning of Tuesday 13th April 2010, Mr. Surachai Kanasa, Governor of Samut Prakan, and his wife, Mrs. Thongpin Kanasa, and their daughter, led other local people in making merit for the Songkran holidays. The event started at at 7.30 a.m. in front of the City Pillar in Paknam. Alms were given to local monks which was followed by pouring rose scented water over an image of the Buddha and the hands of elders.

SONGKRAN PARADE IN SAMUT PRAKAN: On the morning of Sunday 11th April 2010, Mr. Surachai Kanasa, Governor of Samut Prakan, and his wife, Mrs. Thongpin Kanasa, led other local people in making merit for the Songkran holidays. At 8.30 a.m. a parade of about ten floats left The Erawan Museum and toured around Samut Prakan for two hours before arriving at Ancient Siam. Both of these locations will have activities for the public during Songkran.

ORDINATION OF NOVICE MONKS: On the morning of 4th April 2010, about 350 school boys from Samut Prakan ordained as novice monks at Wat Chai Mongkol. They will remain as novices for a period of three weeks.

HAIR-CUTTING CEREMONY: At 1.30 p.m., on 3rd April 2010, about 299 local boys had their hair cut off in the first step to becoming novice monks at Wat Chaimongkol in Samut Prakan. After the hair-cutting ceremony, the boys took part in a parade to the pay respect to the spirits at the city pillar. The ordination ceremony will be on Sunday morning. The boys will stay as novice monks for three weeks during the summer holidays.

พิธีปลงผมนาค: เมื่อวันเสาร์ที่ 3 เมษายน 2553 เวลา 13.30 น. ที่ผ่านมา ที่วัดชัยมงคล ต.ปากน้ำ อ.เมืองฯ จ.สมุทรปราการ ได้มีการทำพิธีปลงผมนาค และตั้งขบวนแห่นาคจากวัดไปยังตลาดปากน้ำเพื่อไปสักการะศาลเจ้าพ่อหลักเมือง โดยมี นายสัมพันธ์ เตชะเจริญกุล นายกเทศมนตรีนครสมุทรปราการ ให้เกียรติมาร่วมในพิธี

SAMUT PRAKAN CHARITY GOLF COMPETITION: On the 24th March 2010, Mr Surachai Kanasa, the Governor of Samut Prakan, took part in a charity golf competition at the Lakewood Country Club in Samut Prakan. The event was in aid of the Thai Red Cross and Chulalongkorn Hospital. Also present were Mr. Than Boonyatulanon, the Chief Justice of the Criminal Court, Mr. Chana Nopsuwan, the deputy Governor of Samut Prakan and Mr. Samphan Techacharoenkul, Samut Prakan City Mayor.

การแข่งขันกอล์ฟการกุศล กาชาด 2553: จังหวัดสมุทรปราการ และเหล่ากาชาดจังหวัดสมุทรปราการ ร่วมกันจัดการแข่งขันกอล์ฟการกุศลกาชาดขึ้นในวันพุธที่ 24 มีนาคม 2553 ณ สนามกอล์ฟ Lakewood Country Club ซึ่งได้เริ่มการแข่งขันกันไปแล้วตั้งแต่เวลา 12.00 น. ที่ผ่านมา

HAPPY APRIL AT ANCIENT SIAM: On the 22nd March 2010, Mr Surachai Kanasa, the Governor of Samut Prakan, presided over the press conference at the Ancient Siam to reveal the exciting events for April 2010. These include traditional Thai dance and plays, worshipping at Guan Ong Imran shrine and 9 Buddha images. Highlights include Songkran activities and a special night tour.
