MERIT MAKING FOR QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY: Mr. Surachai Kanasa, the Governor of Samut Prakan Province, led government officals and local people in giving alms to the monks to celebrate the 78th birthday of H.M. The Queen. The ceremony started this morning at 7 a.m. with chanting and was then followed by alms giving. Aftwerwards 1,000,000 sea creatures were released into the Chao Phraya River to make merit and honour H.M. The Queen.
พิธีทำบุญตักบาตร: เช้า วันนี้พสกนิกรชาวปากน้ำกว่าพันคนร่วมทำบุญตักบาตร เนื่องในวันเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษาสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ ที่บริเวณลานหน้าศาลากลางจังหวัด โดยนายสุรชัย ขันอาสา ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดเป็นประธานเปิดงาน นอกจากนั้นยังมีการปล่อยพันธุ์สัตว์น้ำจำนวน 1 ล้านตัว ณ บริเวณริมเขื่อนหน้าศาลากลาง

is at the far end of the Chao Phraya River, where it empties out into the Gulf of Thailand. The borders to the north and west join the Metropolitan of Bangkok. This photo album concentrates mainly on Paknam where we live, but we also have pictures about events and festivals around the province. We are close enough to Bangkok for people to come for a day trip. We don't get many independent foreign tourists so this is actually a good place to experience "Untouched Thailand".
