CANDLE BOAT PARADE IN BANG PHLI: On 24th July 2010, Mr. Surachai Kanasa, the Governor of Samut Prakan, together with the Mayor of Bang Phli municipality, led local people in boats along Samrong Canal to present candles to two local temples. The candles were to mark the start of Khao Phansa, the Buddhist Rains Retreat, at Wat Bang Phli Yai Klang and Wat Bang Yai Nai.

is at the far end of the Chao Phraya River, where it empties out into the Gulf of Thailand. The borders to the north and west join the Metropolitan of Bangkok. This photo album concentrates mainly on Paknam where we live, but we also have pictures about events and festivals around the province. We are close enough to Bangkok for people to come for a day trip. We don't get many independent foreign tourists so this is actually a good place to experience "Untouched Thailand".
