HAIR-CUTTING CEREMONY: At 1.30 p.m., on 3rd April 2010, about 299 local boys had their hair cut off in the first step to becoming novice monks at Wat Chaimongkol in Samut Prakan. After the hair-cutting ceremony, the boys took part in a parade to the pay respect to the spirits at the city pillar. The ordination ceremony will be on Sunday morning. The boys will stay as novice monks for three weeks during the summer holidays.
พิธีปลงผมนาค: เมื่อวันเสาร์ที่ 3 เมษายน 2553 เวลา 13.30 น. ที่ผ่านมา ที่วัดชัยมงคล ต.ปากน้ำ อ.เมืองฯ จ.สมุทรปราการ ได้มีการทำพิธีปลงผมนาค และตั้งขบวนแห่นาคจากวัดไปยังตลาดปากน้ำเพื่อไปสักการะศาลเจ้าพ่อหลักเมือง โดยมี นายสัมพันธ์ เตชะเจริญกุล นายกเทศมนตรีนครสมุทรปราการ ให้เกียรติมาร่วมในพิธี

is at the far end of the Chao Phraya River, where it empties out into the Gulf of Thailand. The borders to the north and west join the Metropolitan of Bangkok. This photo album concentrates mainly on Paknam where we live, but we also have pictures about events and festivals around the province. We are close enough to Bangkok for people to come for a day trip. We don't get many independent foreign tourists so this is actually a good place to experience "Untouched Thailand".
