JAO POR TAP FESTIVAL: Mr. Surachai Kanasa, Governor of Samut Prakan, opened the Jao Por Tap Festival Parade in Samrong early on the morning of 24th January 2010. Local Chinese people believe that Jao Por Tap will help them to be rich and so his image is very revered.

is at the far end of the Chao Phraya River, where it empties out into the Gulf of Thailand. The borders to the north and west join the Metropolitan of Bangkok. This photo album concentrates mainly on Paknam where we live, but we also have pictures about events and festivals around the province. We are close enough to Bangkok for people to come for a day trip. We don't get many independent foreign tourists so this is actually a good place to experience "Untouched Thailand".
