NEW YEAR ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS: On the morning of 25th December 2009, Mr. Surachai Kanasa, Governor of Samut Prakan Province, performed the opening ceremony at the City Hall Plaza for a campaign for public awareness of road safety over the new year period. Members of the public were given the chance to learn safe driving techniques and also have their vehicles checked out by mechanics. The aim of the campaign is to reduce road accident during the new year. The majority of accidents are caused by drunk driving.

is at the far end of the Chao Phraya River, where it empties out into the Gulf of Thailand. The borders to the north and west join the Metropolitan of Bangkok. This photo album concentrates mainly on Paknam where we live, but we also have pictures about events and festivals around the province. We are close enough to Bangkok for people to come for a day trip. We don't get many independent foreign tourists so this is actually a good place to experience "Untouched Thailand".
