PAKNAM OBSERVATION TOWER: After being delayed for a number of years, Mr. Amnuay Rassamitat, the Chief Executive of the PAO, recently told the media that a budget of 415 million baht has finally been approved. Work on the 139 meter high tower is expected to start in early 2010 and be finished by 2012. The tower will house a museum and library and will be surrounded by a park.

is at the far end of the Chao Phraya River, where it empties out into the Gulf of Thailand. The borders to the north and west join the Metropolitan of Bangkok. This photo album concentrates mainly on Paknam where we live, but we also have pictures about events and festivals around the province. We are close enough to Bangkok for people to come for a day trip. We don't get many independent foreign tourists so this is actually a good place to experience "Untouched Thailand".
