ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN FOR NEW YEAR: Mr. Surachai Kanasa, the Governor of Samut Prakan, presided over a ceremony on 8th December 2009 to promote road safety during the New Year holidays between 29th December and 4th January. During this period last year, there were five deaths in Samut Prakan. The aim of this campaign is to reduce the number of deaths. Local motorcyclists who attended the event were given free helmets. They then later took part in a parade through the town.
รณรงค์ป้องกันและลดอุบัติเหตุทางถนน ช่วงเทศกาลปีใหม่ 2553: เช้าวันอังคารที่ 8 ธันวาคม 2552 เวลาประมาณ 08.40 น. นายสุรชัย ขันอาสา ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดสมุทรปราการเป็นประธานพิธีเปิดกิจกรรม "รณรงค์ป้องกันและลดอุบัติเหตุทางถนน ช่วงเทศกาลปีใหม่ 2553" ที่ทางสำนักงานป้องกันและบรรเทาสาธารณภัยจังหวัดสมุทรปราการจัดขึ้น ณ บริเวณลานหน้าศาลากลางจังหวัดสมุทรปราการ ภายในงานมีการแจกหมวกกันน็อคแก่ข้าราชการ มูลนิธิ อาสาสมัคร และบุคคลต่างๆที่มาร่วมงาน ทั้งนี้ยังได้ร่วมกันเคลื่อนขบวนรถจากศาลากลางผ่านตลาดปากน้ำไปยังวงเวียน ท้ายบ้านและกลับมายังศาลากลางอีกด้วย

is at the far end of the Chao Phraya River, where it empties out into the Gulf of Thailand. The borders to the north and west join the Metropolitan of Bangkok. This photo album concentrates mainly on Paknam where we live, but we also have pictures about events and festivals around the province. We are close enough to Bangkok for people to come for a day trip. We don't get many independent foreign tourists so this is actually a good place to experience "Untouched Thailand".
